Dave Hance Returns To Outlaw 10.5 With Former Schlessinger Mustang

Race promoter and accomplished competitor Dave Hance, who has fielded a race car in virtually every doorslammer category in the sport at one time or another, revealed this week that he’ll be returning to the Outlaw 10.5 ranks with a new (to him) race car out of the New York Motorsports stable.

Over the weekend, Hance purchased and picked up the beautiful Fox body Mustang previously campaigned by car owner Ron Schlessinger and driven by Larry Wood in the Notheast before being parked in favor the pair’s stunning new C6 Corvette.

“It will be an uphill battle considering all the great teams currently in Outlaw 10.5,” said Hance.
Hance has been rather bashful on the message forums in regards to his expectations, because if we know Dave as well as we think, he’ll do whatever it takes short of burning the thing to the ground to run up front.

Hance last competed in Outlaw 10.5 in the mid-2000′s in one of the early 2005 Mustangs. Since that time, Hance has made history with the first six-second Outlaw Drag Radial pass and last fall, clicked off his first five-second pass in his ’57 Chevy after years of trying. Hance indicated that both the Radial car and the ’57 are currently for sale.
It’s certainly going to be an interesting season with a hungry racer the likes of Dave Hance, among others, in the Outlaw 10.5 game.

It is with great dis-appointment I must report we will NOT be conducting a 2nd Shakedown event at PBIR during the 2012 year. We apologize to all our fans, racers & sponsors who were looking forward to the 2012 event. We had a wonderful event in March of 2011 and we thank our partners at PBIR, the media & all others who worked so hard on the race for the wonderful job they did in 2011. Perhaps the day will come when we are able to secure the necessary sponsorships & the time it takes to host a first-class heads up event. We would love to host an event at PBIR at some future time. Please note the 10th Annual Shakedown at E’town event is scheduled for Oct 12-14th at Raceway Park, Englishtown, NJ. Our Shakedown Staff and the entire E’town staff will work hard to make our 10th event the best ever ! Thank you all for your past & continued support.

New York Motorsports Hits a Home Run for David Hance

David Hance ran his first ever 5 second pass at his Shakedown at E’town event on Sunday, October 9. In the second round, Dave beat # 2 qualifier Pete Farber and ran a 5.92 at 251 mph. He made it to the semis where mechanical issues sidelined him. “This is the best we have run at Shakedown in a long time and I am just proud to do it here in front of my family, friends and this crowd,” Hance said.

At Maryland International Raceway the Northeast Outlaw Pro Mod Association hosted the 1320 Pro Mod Warrior Series Supercharger Showdown on October 21 & 22. While competing in the Turbo/Blown class, Hance reset the track speed record to 249 while running 5.95 and 5.96.

The best was yet to come for David, who while testing at MIR for the NEOPMA Rumble in the Park at Virginia Motorsports Park on Friday, ran consistent 5 second runs including his personal best 5.79 at 254 mph. The first two passes right out of the trailer were 5.93 at 249 mph and 5.88 at 253 mph. Unfortunately, the test session rained out before David was able to make another pass. “I am so excited to have these runs, my team has worked so hard this year, and to be able to run these times is just incredible,” said Hance.

After last year, David Hance “New York Motorsports” had to rethink is options of this years event creation with some sense of a balance of power included in the production. The use of the term “Balance Of Power” was in this vocabulary since the Northeast was in a slight upheaval because racers and rules that needed a combination that would allow the classic drag racing format and new added classes to run safely and bring in the “big players” needed to make this another event to be “Unleashed In The Northeast”.

Jorge Lazcano & Team Puerto Rico WIN 9th Annual Shakedown E’town Import Shootout !

Jorge Lazcano is a quiet guy who knows his way around a race car. Jorge is one of the top drivers on the Import seen it was great to see him get the WIN light at the 9th Annual Shakedown E’Town race. The final round between Jorge Lazcano and Carlos Montana aka Pepe Loco was a thrill ! In the end Jorge got the WIN and is now on his way back to Puerto Rico with a big smile on his face ! Congrats to Jorge and the whole La familiar Racing team !

Watching Bud Yoder mow through the Worlds Fastest Street Bike Challenge at the 9th Annual Shakedown E’town event was like watching “Poetry in Motion”… The technique, the colors, the sounds…it all added up to a terrific performance netting Bud the Pro Street Bike Championship at the Shakedown Event. The competition was tough but in the end Bud Yoder was the man to beat and Congrats to to him and his Awesome team on a great win !

ALFONSE MAGLIOCCO bags 9th Annual Shakedown E’town 8.50 Index Win !

When its your day you won’t be denied and Alfonse Jr. had his day at the 9th Annual Shakedown E’town event winning both the 8.50 Index class and the “Last man Standing” award netting him a cool $7k ! Alfonse Jr won perhaps the toughest class in the country The Shakedown 8.50 index class had over 50 teams fighting for 32 spots which then paired down til there was just one. Congrats to Alphonse Jr. and his lovely family on a great Victory !

Sam Gottier WINS Back to Back Shakedown E’town Heavy Street Class Titles !

Can anybody in Heavy Street put Sam Gottier on the Trailer ? It doesn’t look so as Sam WON the 9th Annual Shakedown E’town Heavy Street Class Title for 2nd Straight year. Sam had the awesome RED Chevelle running hard every round and what a show it was seeing the BIG Chevy Power down the famed E’town Track. Congrats to Sam and his entire Team on yet another great WIN ! For the 10th Annual Shakedown I hear a BOUNTY may be placed on Sam ??? lol
